The experience of blogging has like me. I like to write a lot, and I had
never tried in English, so it was a good and new experience. I also think that
is a really practical way to learn. Learn by the practice. Well, the writing
process has been the same all the semester to me; just think like I’m talking
with someone, and try to make it informal. By the way, I feel that my redaction
and grammar skills have improved. In the future maybe I can include some video
of me talking in English, or maybe a live session (streaming), but I guess that
that is not possible because I don’t have really much followers jajaj so will
be like talk with myself. But I don’t know a video about my travels, like a
documental maybe? The thing is, that the focus of my blog will be always the
travels, not just my travels, but the other people travels also, and share
experiences, and make a big blog of travelers! That will be cool. I could
receive some advices from people that have already traveled to my next destiny,
and I could do the same for them. I will like to keep blogging.

My favorite subject this semester
My favorite
subject this semester was ‘’Self-care skills development for the professional exercise
II’’. The responsible of this UTE was
teacher Claudia Xauss, but as the curse was divided in about ten groups, and
each of these groups has a teacher assigned, I didn’t have class with Miss
Xauss. The teacher of my group was Miss Patricia Cisternas, who is an adorable
people that teaches us really well (and put us very good marks). I enjoyed because is the only subject (this
year) that is actually about dentistry! We made the practical part on it, and I
really feel like a dentist in the pre-clinical lab. Throughout the semester I had learn a lot of
things, make some dentals cements, the name of almost of the dentistry
instrumental, to work with alginates, plasters and waxes, and has been really
fun to me.
Well, as I delayed
a year because i didn’t pass a subject (Chemical and Physical processes for
clinical interventions I), I won’t have a lot of subjects the next year. Just
like two or three. And I don’t hope some much about them. I hate Chemistry
and physics so study that again won’t be fun at all. I also will have
Anthropology I guess (I’m not really sure of it), and like I’m a humanist guy, I
think that maybe that subject could like me. But I prefer not to hope so much
of it, and just let me surprise. By the
way, I don’t to think about the next year subjects, I prefer to think on the
vacations that are really close right now!

How green am i?
Well, now that is a theme of world concern (maybe because now the global climate change has affected a big part of the Earth) there are a lot of places where people can learn about environmentally friendly practices. But I think that the most important part of this learning is the family one. What parents can teach to them children’s will be determinant for the future habits of those children’s (if these habits are good for the ambient or not depend on it).
In my family there are not much recycling habits, just one: recycle the oil. But I guess that is the minimum, I meant, most of the people know that throw away the oil by the dishwasher can contaminate thousands of thousands of liters of water, right? So in my house we do what all people should do: put the used oil in a bottle and then throw it to the rubbish. I don’t use a car (in part, because I don’t have a license), I actually walk a lot, if the distance are least that three stations of subway, I walk (for example, I walked since Puente Cal y Canto subway to the college).
I didn’t join to any eco-organizations; I think that I can do the same by my own. The problem won’t be solved by making some manifestations, I meant (and sorry for the pessimism), the most of the people doesn’t hear it or supported (the most even know what it’s happening in the world right now). I think that talk to the people and convince them to change is the best to do. That is what eco-organizations make, and I can make it in my house, in my college, and wherever place. I will like to make an organic garbage (in the Society and Culture UTE teach us how to make it) because I haven’t reduce my carbon footprint in any way and that’s a good way to do it. In Santiago, the most important thing that is pending, is about drive policies. There are a lot of cars in the town!

My Future Job
I always
say that my vocation is help people (I inherited that for my mom, who is a
public worker since twenty years ago, and she loves to help people, she says ‘’the
gratefulness are the best gift on this world’’), and as the dentistry is one of
the areas worst cover in the Chilean public health, I decided to study odontology.
But that’s no exactly my ‘’perfect’’ job (I meant, who can love being inside of
others mouths?), I will like a job where I can travel a lot and without a
really demanding schedule (I guess that all people want that). Definitely not
in an office; I know a lot of persons who work in an office (almost all the
day) and they are really stressed people! I won’t like that for my future. The
only way that I can tolerate being all the day in an office is work for some
daily or a literature magazine where I have the liberty to write articles about
themes of my interest. I haven’t thought of which major I will take
yet, I don’t even know about what are some of them, so I can’t bow for one
right now. But I think that could be orthodontics, because my mom always says
me that there is a looooong waiting list for that area in the public health.

Practice
1. We think that compulsive spenders are a problem of our social system because, that is the message that all of us resived during all our lifes, and some people is more vulnerable, to all this signals.
2.- Nowadays,
the most common problem between dentists are the overpopulation of their
colleagues, so could be difficult find a stable work.
Summer Plans
A great
summer requires a lot of money. Well, not necessarily, but for ambitious and
curious persons like me, who likes to travel a lot and know new places, the cash
it’s essential. So, my first plan for the summer it’s get a good job. No so
demanding, in a good schedule, a couple of weeks, and with good salary. After collect the necessary money, I will go
to the south of Chile hitch-hiking, by a month. In that time (a month) I hope
to travel by all the parts of the south that I didn’t knew last year, that are
the X, XI and XII regions of Chile (Los Lagos, Aysén, Magallanes). I will like
to go with my friends, but so far, I think I will go alone, because almost all
my adventurers friends are students of Universidad de Santiago, which this year
go of holidays in February, so by now I’m trying to convince others friends who
aren’t so adventurers, so it’s a little difficult that they want to go. But in
the ‘’worst’’ of the cases, I don’t have any problem with go alone. After that
great travel, I will spend some time with my family, I don’t know where yet,
but we always go a week or two to some beach or town. Finally, I will like to
spend the last days of my holidays in my grandma’s house. There is a big forest
behind it, and I like to get in there and just walk.
PET Practice - Session 1
11.- The most challenging skill for me is
the vocabulary one. I think that I can talk really well in english but with a very reduced vocabulary; y just
use the most common words and phrases.
2.- The vocabulary one and also the
reading 1. About vocabulary I already explain why in the previous question, the
reading 1 was a little bit difficult because the fact that it has alternatives,
confuse me a little.
3. The
easiest skill was the listening. I think that talk in english and listening it’s something
that I can do without much problem, but like I already said, my vocabulary is
not really rich

My favorite food
Well, I love
food. In fact, I can’t remember any food that disliked me, so choose a favorite
dish is no easy at all. I think that the Chilean plates could be my favorites; ‘’humitas’’,
‘’porotos’’ and cake of corn are delicious. They like me a lot because remember
me the south. Every time I go to my grandma’s house (near to Concepción) I eat
at least one of that plates, and they are always fantastic, I don’t know if it
is because of the touch of my grandma, the magic of the south, or the recipe
are just good (maybe because of all) . When I eat them here in Santiago, it’s
like been on the south (and I love the south). I also like the pastas,
especially raviolis and lasagna. The last time I saw a lasagna I literally
devoured it, all the tray. Lasagna is one of the favorites food of my mom too,
so every time we go to a restaurant we order a big lasagna for the two of us. Ironically, I don’t know how to cook any of those
plates, and not because I don’t like to cook (I like it a lot), it’s just that
my specialty are the desserts. I can make lemon pie, cakes, mousse of many flavors
and varieties of cookies. Anyway, my dad
it’s an excellent chef, so I can ask to him to make any food I want J

PET Practice
1.-
Well, it
wasn't very difficult (i almost get the 100% of good answers), but there was a
few words that I didn't know, so I couldn't choose the good answer. Also, in
the second activity, there were a lot of different texts, so I was a little confused
with all the information.
2.-
First of
all, I must say that I can’t believe that there is no place of Chile in this
list. Also, I already said my reasons to go to Machu Picchu in another post, so
I will take other place. I will like to go to Chichen-Itzá, on Mexico, because I
will like to visit all the countries in America (including my beautiful Chile,
in all him extension), before to go to places in the other continents. I’m
really curious about the culture of Mexicans aborigines, and maybe Chichen-Itzá
can help me.
3.-
The English is one of the most popular
languages in the world. As a future professional is important to learned it
because can help me in the relations with my colleagues, especially if I have
the lucky of go to some congress in another country. Also, right now as a
student, it helps me when I have to study from some English source (articles,
by example). I will like to learn about popular terms using by the people who
talks in English (like the ‘’cachai’’, ‘’po’’, etc. here in Chile).

Pets
I have two
beautiful pets. Both of them are dogs, one is a puddle (male) and the other is a
beagle (female). I didn’t choose them names, my family did it! All my family
except me! And they decided to call Luna to the beagle and Mateo to the puddle.
Mateo join to the family the Christmas
of 2008 (If I’m not wrong) and he came like a Santa’s present, he was so little
and he cried a lot. I was the first in make contact with him, and he received
me as him father. Since there he gives me all him loyalty and obedience. With Luna was a little different. One day, my
father just came with her in his arms, without any reason. He just takes her to
our home. I think that the loyalty is
very important in a relationship with a pet. Because of that I prefer Mateo
before that Luna, he always follow me wherever I go and obeys me every time I give
him an order, and the most important thing, he always want love. Luna, in the
other side, is the most stubborn dog in the world, she is indifferent and
bored. Even with that, I’m the only one in my family who prefers Mateo. Anyway,
I love both of them.
About exotic pets, mm...i'm not really interested on them, but will be cool have some strange fish in an aquarium in the future..i don't know
My favorite sport
My favorite
sport is football soccer. I don’t know why, I like it since I have memory. When I was a little boy I get into the
academy of soccer of Universidad de Chile.
I achieved to be captain of the team, win a few trophies and travel for
some places. Even we appeared in an album of the Liga Chilena, and some posters
with my face on it were given in the subway inviting to join to the academy. Then I had to choose between the sport and the
study, and considering that in Chile is really difficult arrive to professional
football, I decide continue with my studies.
However, I still play football (I and will do it since I lose my legs)
for the college and with my friends (two or three times for week at least). My
favorites teams are U. de Chile, Manchester City and Roma. In Roma there is one
of my idols: Francesco Totti. This legend has been 26 years defending the same
team!! Even with millionaire’s offers of other clubs, he always says no! That is loyalty. I love this game; I can’t
explain the passion that I feel when I play it. I will never get bored of
soccer.

Holidays
My best holidays
ever were during the summer of this
year. I was lucky enough to just spend December, and a few days of January here
in Santiago . I say lucky because Santiago during the summer is just really
boring. I went to the south of Chile hitch-hiking for almost a month with my
friends, visiting a lot of little towns on there. We were like fish, because we
swam a lot in all the lagoons and rivers, and also we meet a lot of beautiful
forests and bird. We usually were sleepy, thirsty, hungry or sweaty, but all
the amazing persons, landscapes, sunsets, adventures and the friends we made
there make those holidays the best that I ever had (so far). This year I will
go for more experiences like that.

Getting Around
1.-
In the PET practice i got 5/7 score. I was really tired because i just came from the gym, so i wasn't focus enough. The pronunciation has always been a problem for me, by the way.
2.- In the Listening Practice i got 60% score. It was an extense listening and for moments i was really lost.
3.-
1.- It cost two pounds four 24 hours of bike access, and the first half an hour of each journey it is free. Longer journeys cost two pounds for each extra 30 minutes. This system is available 24/7. 365 days at year
2.- It's an electronic ticketing used in public transport in London.

Places to visit
I will like
to visit all the South American countries, but my nearly objective is Peru,
because I have friends that have made that trip already and they recommend me
to do it as well. I don’t know much
about it (that’s also one of my reasons to go), but friends have told me beautiful
things about the culture there. Machu Picchu is a world heritage site, and a
beautiful place to go. I would like to walk a lot, meeting people and talking
to them about the customs. The Peruvian Amazonas is also a place that I would like
to visit (I’m a really adventurist guy, by the way) and share with the people
of the zone, make money with friends playing music in the street (they appreciate
that kind of ‘’art’’, not like here in Chile) and with that money buy the food
and the rest of my needs, because I don’t have enough money to pay that and
also the passage.
